Jogged my memory of a particularly funny interview I saw last year.

The violinist said that, when he was starting out, their small group scored a gig where, after much hedging, the employer said that it was for a nudist ball and that would have to play naked. After an appropriate extra fee was offered, they decided to do it. He said "Imagine our suprise when the stage curtains opened mid song to reveal an audience all dressed in tails and evening wear. As a violinist, I didn't have much chance to use my instrument for cover".

Slightly off course, I also read in Michael Parkinsons Bio that he visited a restaurant where Dudley Moore was playing jazz. To his suprise, Dud announced that MP was there and that he was a great singer. Having had a few vinos, MP agreed to sing a song and Dud suggest "Moon River" which he knew was one of his favourites. As the tune progressed, Dud kept changing the chord voicings to minor and changing the key with the result being a musical disaster. Towards the end of the song, Dud winked at MP and nodded to a particular table - where Andy Williams was sitting.

We found an old magazine when cleaning out a property my buddy bought. amongst a box or two of fairly current skin mags that had been the property of the old bachelor, previous owner, we came a cross a Mag called Nudist Leisure - it was from 1963 and had a cover price of $5.95 which would be quite expensive at the time, It was full of female nudists - funny no exposed guys - and articles about how nudism was not pornography etc. The photos were a riot. Full frontals before the days of boob jobs or bikini waxing. Nudist archery, nudist ... , but the very best photo was of the female nudist accordian player. The caption didn't say what tune she was playing.
