Off to see Jersey Boys tomorrow night. Has gotten rave reviews. Should be a blast.

Enjoyed immensely.

Although they were before my formative years, I had of course heard of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and some of their songs. I found their story, and how the record industry operated then, most informative - mega hits and ended up broke. Didn't know about the role Bob Gaudio played in the group's success or that he wrote "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" (which is now a standard). Although he was a high flying artist, he couldn't get airplay because it was "different".

Sad to see very few under 20s in the audience and amazed to see the oldies not objecting to the concert-level audio. On the way out, I asked a group of young girls (about 16) if they enjoyed it and they raved about it.

It's been playing in Australia for 5 years. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favour and go.

I haven't seen it yet. My son is going to NYC on a school trip in a few months to see it. It's supposed to be great!

And... Bob Gaudio wrote or co-wrote just about all of their tunes. A major talent for sure.
