After 2 months of hard preparation the accreditation process is over for another five years for our school. The director of education's goal was zero negative findings with the average number of findings for all schools is about 5.2. They came in Monday and began with the instructor and school's paperwork. The accreditation inspection team was comprised of experts in every field of training in our school. After going over the school files for a half day , the team went to random department classrooms looking for any mistakes in training syllabi , use of training aids and safety violations in the labs. MY afternoon and evening class were both hit. When they arrived , I was removed from the classroom as students were interviewed at random and I got the 50 question oral in the hallway. Stuff like how many students were in the class , where were the missing ones , nearest fire extinguisher .......on and on. Labs were examined for cleanliness , safety , and relevance to the syllabi. The visit was over midday on the second day. Because we are a private school and are qualified for government student loans , the accreditation process is much more difficult than public schools.

I'm proud to say we had zero findings and are good for another five years.

Now we can all breathe again.

We heard nothing from the front highers ups. Our lead instructor did tell us the results and thanked everybody.

Didn't get a raise but was offered an extra 2 hours overtime per day for lab set up and class prep.

Geno, a full time teachers job; how many hours per week actually in the classroom with students? So I mean, without preparation, composing testpapers and grading them>

I am actually in the classroom teaching 10 hours / day. Two different classes. Electrical in the afternoon and advanced engines in the evening . First class begins at 12:30 pm.

I teach about 23 hours a week in total (if it is a full time job, but my job is 78% and so is the pay). Lessons are 50 minutes each. The rest is preparation, making testpapers, grading them, meetings and small projects. Adding it all up it's about 40 hours per week for a full time job.

Adding it all up the last week was 60 something pay hours. I don't have an evening class on Fridays. So that's pretty cool.

I don't really mind the hours but it can be a little boring in the lab as I take a self-discovery style of hands on training. I just watch and let then make mistakes and show them what went wrong when they can't figure it out. I think they learn more that way .

Based on what I know of your "history" the past few years (since I've been on this board), I'd say you're pretty blessed in many ways...consider the alternatives I guess

...Fridays nights reserved for Herradurra and Motif????
