I think this is a great help and it should be a sticky. I dont know how to link to a previous post , so here is the text from mitchm2005

Sometime ago, there was a website or post that would explain using EFFECTS.

Well, what I did, a couple weeks ago, was I called Yamaha, asking them, for a specific book, that would describe how to use the DYN and EFF's correctly, cause the manual and DVDsucks.....and they told me that:

The AW16G Closely resembles the 01V.

so PLEASE GO TO THE FOLLOWING:

http://www.c-mexx.com/english/frameset.htm
THEN
click on Tutorials, documentation and support files
FROM THERE CLICK ON:
01V DOC/PDF supplements (450KB)

That should be a thorough explanation....as to using DYN/EFFS properly.....

I sincerely hope it helps you out.....

P.S. DON't be afraid to download the other documentations.....since anything close to the 01V will closely match the 16G......hopefully......JUST DON'T DOWNLOAD ANY PROGRAMS.....ONLY DOCUMENTATIONS/README FOR THE 01V...... Haven't done this yet.......hopefully will.......

been so busy.....

Take care......Mitch.....

I hope you have plenty of printing paper and ink!
...just a small token of my appreciation to help out this forum...I want to be "in" with the "in-crowd"...

More Paul........
You have double posted to this section and the newby section. Would you mind deleting one or the other just for neatness ? If you have any problems I can help you with it.

Thanks
Geno

oh, I think i found it.

I actually did want to post it in the "valuable information for newbies" thread too though.... just because there were alot of those type of links in that thread.

I thought Id put it in the recording section too, so people looking for that information specifically would have an easy time finding it(thats why i made it a new topic sticky there and just a reply to a thread in the other).

Hope thats not a problem.

I also wanted to highlight the fact that the yamaha G effects are the same as the 01v , minus a couple of settings.

So, the manual for the 01v effects is really handy, and it goes WAY more into depth on the way the effects actually work.

Doesn't really matter to me. lets see what Admin wants to do if anything.
No big deal actually. It's a great post. I would leave the sticky and throw out the other one if it were me.

Question:

Is this OV1 documentation pertinent to the aw1600 as well?

I would think so, considering the G and the 1600 are essentially the same machine inside. The 1600 manual is essentially the G manual word for word with little bits added about the USB, pitch correct, etc.

The link in this post is no longer valid. I located the site and got the following message (Babelfish translated from German): "Here a new Internet presence develops!" But it was not a live link. I was able to find an 01V doc Reverb Effect Parameters, which was very helpful. I would be especially interested in similar docs pertaining to effects and dynamics processing. Thanks.

Thanks for the link. I was looking for something that explored dynamics processing more like this: http://faq.yamaha.com/us/en/article/liv ... best&type= Wish I could find the original link cited in the post, but, alas, it seems to have disappeared into the ether.
