Hi All,

I finally got my aw16g and so far I'm very impressed with it's capabilities. However, the unit I bought
has a problem with the EQ button select. THe encoder is fine but the push function doesn't work, it's a faliure of the plastic shaft on the rotaty pot. I checked with the parts list and it's an ALPS rotary encoder with push switch part No. EC12E2444400. It appears that this is a obsolete part and I can't seem to source a replacement.

Does anyone know of where I might get one of these to replace the broken one?. Maybe someone is breaking a old non-working 16g for spares?. Or does Yamaha keep a stock of old parts ( I doubt it ).

I can work round it, but I would like to get it fully working again.

Thanks for any help provided.

KW.

I would certainly get in touch with Yamaha, it maybe a part that`s also used in another machine of some sort, it can`t hurt to ask for advice, and they still reply even though it`s no longer supported.
Good luck.

In addition to calling Yamaha, keep your eyes open on Craigslist and eBay for parts machines. I have seen them from time to time.

+1 on that. Yamaha repaired one of my RM1x machines, which is ancient, so definitely worth talking to them.

Hi KW. Did you manage to find this part ? I have the very same issue. Its just the black plastic clip thing that is broken. It came off with the knob (part no V9012300).

I have found a number of ALPS EC12's on a website called aliexpress.com. I'm wondering if these are the very thing.
