I have had my AW16G for a couple of years now and usually only recorded no more than 8 tracks. Now I am using it to record my band and we may, by the time we run a fourth mic on the drums (plus I am interested in putting two different mics on the guitarist's amp), have to use use tracks 9 and up for back up vocals. Whenever I have recorded on 9 thru 16 it seems like it is almost panned to one side or the other and using the pan control doesn't seem to get it into the center. I can hear sound on both sides but one side seems to be more dominant. Is this just part of the deal with this unit or is there something I missed in the instruction manual? Basically I would like the option of centering the sound like in tracks 1 thru 8.

Hi. It's been a while but I believe the jog wheel will center those paired tracks.

Press the PAN/BAL button. Cursor to the "knob" of the channel you want centered. Press the ENTER button. Now you should hear your track from both speakers. At least I did. :)

If you haven't already found this out, recording from an odd number input (1,3,etc) will go to the odd track of the pair and an even input (2,4,etc.) will go to the even track.
