In trying to help numerous people this week with AWextract I am posting a new link to help.

AW EXTRACT

This site not only contains the download but also an in depth tutorial of the programs limitations and usage.

The old link didn't seen to work, so I posted it here for posterity.

Oh ? just tested the link and it's working fine here at 00:42 GMT here.

AW extract uses the CD 2816 backup method of ONE song. (you gotta select the 2816 backup button) You pop the 2816 backup CD in your computer player and run AW extract on the file on the CD. The result is all of the tracks you recored on the song , including all virtual tracks if recorded and the stereo track and it's virtuals as .wav files that your computer programs and sound card can use.

Welcome to our world.

Sorry

I just got rid of my 16G! I wondered if there was ANYway of extracting the files from a standard backup disc that wasn't written with 2816??

I have tried the AW EXTRACT program and of course the result was INVALID FILE (in my best computer voice).

I wish I knew about this program and the 2816 button before I got rid of my workstation

Hello Mr. Knot and welcome to the forum.

Since Iceland is Europe, send me a copy of your AW16G backup files and I will convert them for you. If you're interested, let me know by PM.

Ok I have a big problem which was referenced in this thread last year...

I have a plethora of data discs from my now stolen 16G, and unfortunately I did not record them in 2816. I now own a 1600 and of course it won't open any of the files, nor will "extract".

Is there any hope for me? Is there anywhere to rent a 16G? HELP!!!!

Where are you from? Maybe someone here can hook you up with 2816 copies.

Welcome to the forum, PV.

As RZ says, let us know where you are. There should be someone in your neighbourhood willing to convert your G backups to 2816 format.

Well I've tried several avenues to possibly rent a 16G, but to no avail. Not to be a pest, but is there anyone out there that can help me?

Thanks in advance.
