I've just bought a 16G for my rehearsal space. (I already have a 1600 in my practice room.) I want to use a direct box that takes phantom power and a dynamic mic at the same time. Can I safely use both without damaging the G?

No problem with the phantom. You need be more concerned with the mics than the G. Most dynamic mics have no problem with phantom. but you never want to send phantom to a Ribbon Mic. But an SM 58, or any standard dynamic will ignore the phantom. Phantom is delivered along an XLR cable. If your DI is going to the G via a 1/4 cable, the G will not be able to send phantom on that. As i recall, the G has xlr on inputs 1&2 only ???

Thanks for the reply. I'm just using an SM57 so shouldn't be a problem. Appreciate you!
