Hi guys,

One of the things I'd like to do is have a webbased music player on the site. I've been experimenting with several players, such as FlamPlayer. Most of them don't want what I want. FlamPlayer has a bug, I couldn't even get it to work in this particular situation.

What I want is a separate directory on the site where the mp3's are stored. The player must recognise the directory listing on startup and put all available mp3's in a playlist. Most players I experimented with had a fixed playlist, an admin had to change it every time. That would mean I would have to change it manually after each upload while I want everyone to be able to upload his/her music being available in the player immediately.

Any suggestions anyone?

BTW the number of available players is not restricted to one. I could install more than one giving everyone a choice.

Hmm, how about this?

http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/

If you could write a script, that automatically checks a certain folder for mp3-files, and generates an xspf-file as playlist, it should be possible to acheive all this.

Just thinking out loud... especially 'cause I haven't even got a clue what an xspf-file would be  .

Michel

Edit: Aha... upon reading up, xspf is shared xml... now, don't I remember Chris mentioning xml one time or the other?
