I've laid down the instrumental tracks for Itchycoo Park, and I've started to do the vocals. I'm having some trouble though, because I recorded it in the original key and when it comes to singing.....I'm no Steve Mariott. I'm still trying to come up with a vocal approach that works in this key. If I can't I'll either re-do the song in a different key, or find someone else to sing the vocal.

You're more than capable of covering the likes of Bruce Hornsby or any other great pianist.

Liberace maybe? :P

I'm gonna pester you, Geno!

We don't care about how you sleep at night....covers, sheet, comforter, doesn't matter.

Just play a song by a famous artist.

Why not do a SkyBart collab of David Bowie's "Heroes" or "Suffragette City". Some cool synth work on both...cool rock piano on the latter. I know the guitar parts for both and could sing it.

No wussin' out.

Geno, How about a cover of Billy Joel's "Piano Man"?

I'm sure you can find someone willing to collaborate and sing the vocal.

I can see Geno doing a great version of Heroes with Gary...layer upon layer of synths...the tough part will be Gary playing that Robert Fripp sustained feedback sound for a whole song...

gopher it!

No offence meant, Geno.

For what it's worth, you can do anything you set your mind to do with keyboards.

This is the 3rd time that I have offered to organize a Dijonstock Comp CD and it will be the last time that I will organize a Comp CD effort.

I had posted and had hoped to draw out Blackbeer who had made a promise last year to organize the Comp CD 2009 effort. Obviously he forgot about his promise. I didn't forget about it.

Whatever.

I've always enjoyed doing it because it's a challenge to organize a Comp CD and make all the songs fit together.

This thread was intended to record and receive contributions for the Comp CD......not pictures of vomit. [-X

I believe I was posting about my views of Liberace , not the production staff or the project.

Otherwise I was exercising my right of freedom of speech just as anyone else may do on this forum.

If there is a problem about what I post or anyone else in the future , please PM me or any other mod for consideration whether to edit posts to suit the general guidelines of this forum will be discussed.

Now that you state your disdain for Liberace....I understand it.

Not a problem, my friend!

So.

What ARE you going to record for the Sweet 16 CD?

Hi Randy,

You are right that I talked about organizing the CompCD 2009 last year. Things changed a lot with my 2 jobs this year.
I have to do a bigger project as a programmer with my second job (no co-workers, have to do all by myself), that does not let me time to breath ... . Working 10 hours daily for my first job from monday til friday and nearly all evenings and complete weekends for my second one. The last 4 weeks I stayed home 6 days because of this.

So I am sorry, but I dont have a chance to do it this year. Hope this explanation is ok for you and you can respect the reasons?

Would be glad to do a contribution when I find some time for this, if this is ok for you.

Andreas

Andreas,

There's no need for you to apologize. It's perfectly understandable that working two jobs doesn't allow you much free time.

The Dec 31 deadline works out perfectly for you then. Yes?
