Or are we not going to say in advance which song we're going to cover?

it might be an idea to mention what songs everyone is looking at; we don't want an entire CD full of Stairway to Heavens...

damn! back to the drawing board..

Good idea.

Your contribution should be a cover of a song that made the Top 100 Billboard chart.

Forget I wrote the Billboard Chart part. All your song has to be is a cover song.

Sounds like fun. I'll research the net and see what I can find. Great idea.

Great idea, Randy! =D> =D> Count me in IF you don't mind my presenting something not as well known. You know me: I'm not a singer and like to play music that's not too mainstream (i.e., strange). But I think I've found something that I can have fun with, giving it an updated taste. It's a short tune, "The Fish" (the end of "Long Distance Runaround") by YES on their Fragile album in 1972. According to Wiki, "it peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 during a stay of 46 weeks, and reached #7 on the UK album chart." Will that tune fit?

And I totally agree that Randy should not spend a cent on this effort, especially this time around. In fact, I said that during the last effort and meant it then, and mean it now. I'll contribute whatever's needed to support the effort. I'm already looking forward to it.

J.

I'd be happy to contribute money as well...no one should bear that expense by themselves...I'd also be willing to help with whatever else is needed...just name it.

now I just need to find a drummer that can turn 70's pop into blast beats.... #-o

I'll keep an open mind on the issue, okay? That's all I'll say for now.

I gotta go listen to that song you want to do. :D

I just laid down a fierce cowbell track, for my cover of 'Don't Fear the Reaper'.

Suffice to say, I'm pretty much done! Oh yea sure. I still have the guitars, drums, bass, vocals, and other tracks to record.....but getting that cowbell down, means the hard stuff is out of the way!

Awww and I was hoping to hear some Emerson Lake and Palmer from you Geno! But some Credence will work.

I've got a Tom Petty song in mind. Been watching him perform it live on You Tube and it might be the one. Still deciding though.

Maybe you were joking, RZ, but that's exactly the thought I had! I need another instrumental tune to balance mine. :D
