For years I have had the Antares AVP-1 and the TC Helicon Voiceworks in my studio.

I would use the AVP-1 for pitch correction and the Voiceworks for harmonies. The problem was that the Voiceworks, besides being WAY too time consuming to program is that if I ever wanted any inner movement I would have to use a keyboard in order to get movement.

I picked up the (Voiceworks - ooops.. Thanks MSG) Digitech Vocalist yesterday, trading in both pieces. So far? Through the PA I love it!!!!

I'm going to try it recording today... I'll give a full review.

I'm confused.......did you acquire a Voiceworks ? or get rid of one ? if so what did you wind up with.

Got rid of the voiceworks... and the avp-1.

Added a Digitech Vocalist 4 Live.

I also have a voiceworks and an AVP-1.

Let us know how much better it works.

WOW... Now that was fun...

As most of you know, the Vocalist Live uses this thing called MusIQ system that allows you the ability to change voicings based upon what you're playing. So... If you play a D, Dus4, D7 and sing the same note, the harmonies will change.

Unless you're connected to a MIDI keyboard you can't get this type of behavior from the Voiceworks.

So, I recorded a rhythm guitar part on the G. No fancy strumming, just to capture the chord changes for the harmonies.

I then routed the aux out of the G into the Voiceworks. On the voice works I turned the Guitar trim to 0, then recorded my vocals.

The unit, when used in stereo mode slightly pans the harmonies for you.

I thought that was pretty cool.

It provides phantom power so I can use my condensor mics. That's pretty cool too! For additional warmth I can run the vocals through my patch bay to a tube pre...

I actually think it's easier to use than even the tube pre - since it has built in de-essers, compressors, etc.

Right now, I'm over using it... once the newness wears off I'll post a recording with it.

Acoustic.
