Here is a trick I taught myself when I was 10 years old. I am now over 50.

I won't explain the theory, but here is a practical way for someone with almost no musical knowledge to play with both hands, and to sound impressive for at least a few seconds!

These chords are very easy to play on a keyboard: "Cmaj7, Dm7, Em7, Fmaj7, Gmaj7 and Am7".
They can be played in almost any permutation or combination in one hand, whiles the other hand does it's best to play a melody or a bass line.

All of the chords only use white notes. Simply play the root note, then the next three alternate white notes.

After holding down the notes, keep the fingers exactly the same difference apart; simply move the entire hand to the next chord.

For example
- to play Fmaj7, hold down the keys F-A-C-E
Or
- to play Am7, hold down A-C-E-G

If you play every other white key other intersting things happen as well.

Play Cmaj7 skip one and add the next white key .........Cmaj9th

Again makes Cmaj11th

Again makes Cmaj13th

Try every other black key..........cool huh ?

Now yer getting into some very cool chords to grab. Yep you gotta use both hands.
