That's right. Expertly put together in China for the brother U.S. of A Nashville, TN. plant to be sold worldwide to budget musicians.
I was in GC doing my usual bi 6 monthly snoop around when I picked up an M.V. Pedulla Buzz. 500$ USED, BEAT TO HELL AND fretless. I never played a more responsive instrument in my life. Very obidient and accomodating to my style.
Mid-range was punchy and growly for lack of a better word.
Smooth, almost silky and dissolvy action and smearing notes together was heavenly.

Never before a bass that played so well for me that I sounded as if I was an explorer in a new world.

Until I picked up the Thunderbird IV bass by Epiphone.
I was attracted to it for the finish and shape, naturally.
The noirish sunburst finish, the carved, color layered grooved headstock that's long and holds notes forver, the soapbar humbuckers in the bridge and neck.

Unbelievably quiet, I believe they are EMG's.
The growl is there in spades. Very smooth tone.
Perfect for my style make-over from agressive twang to a much more refined and rock bottom heavy support note. Very delicious, much like a grand piano.
I've heard others compare it to a Ric bass but I have still yet to discover if that's true.
I think of Chris Squire when I think Ric so...maybe with a Rat pedal, who knows?

It's shadowy, elegant, looks hip in a timeless way, very utilitarian. Functions on a dime. Very sturdy.
VERY sturdy! The strings height, spacing and just the whole saddle set up (so far) is perfect for my general hand strength and I'm confident for long periods of time.

I don't do stage much, so the whole "neck dive" facotr isn't too important as I get down sitting like a lazy Nikki Sixx with more talent and less in shape.
I understand this is a famous bass similar to Nikki Sixx's signature Thunderbird.
As much as I am sickened by Motley Crue's music (cheap, idiotic and not very good), I still love this bass and allow a personal ID to come with it for myself.

It's very sophisticated (not that I am), but to me, that's a great fuel to make some different kinds of music happen.
And certainly has given me a good reason to play the bass more seriously again.
Because I'll always be a bassist at heart.

I feel as if with this bass, I've come full circle, even though the start of the sphere wasn't there.
Finally, I have a good bass that sounds like my playing. Almost like a magnet fretboard and synth bass notes (that perfect cut-off against each notes).
Fucking bass rues!

About 275$. No case (special case needed, can be purchased for 79.00$ cheapest I found) I'm sure well worth it.

Next bass on the list:
Pedulla Buzz Fretless.

Buy a Thunderbird IV if you've ever been curious.
It's inexpensive and built like a pro, sounds like a pro, IS PRO!
You will get a nice sound possibly.

A while back I bought a Schecter Custom - 4 bass from GC. It was a demo and I got it for $150. It's what I use to practice songs I find on you tube. Anyway, they told me it didn't come with a case either. Yeah right. They have lots of used cases in the back from all the trades they take in. While the case they "GAVE" me(for free) wasn't an exact match, it fit and does the job.

If you tell them to go find you one from the back, I'll bet they will.

I really should go back there, you're right.
Nothing wrong with protecting an investment for once.

I picked one up a while back at GC. I liked it sitting but being a small person , it felt huge. My Les Paul bass is pretty large too.

I can tell you like it very much.

Enjoy and let's hear it soon. BTW what color didja git ?

it is a dark sunburst finish...but very dark, almost like a maroon with a white scratchplate.
2 years ago i wouldnt have liked this bass but for some reason, its just my flavor.

Good to hear!
I'm the same as you Geno. Short guy, big head. Smartish I mean.
We actually rule this Earth believe it or not
Surprised by the first mix I heard of the Thunderbird, I promptly returned it for my money back.
Everything about it was awesome, except my ears when playing it back on the G.

Turns out, the thing recorded just fine, it was my technique. The usual suspect.
You can hear it on my soundclick below, all of its the Epi.

Id like to get my hybrid, 130 dollar p and j bass soldered internally because that thing (pics on the way) is just a beauty.
Plays like creamed corn.
And i am NO stranger to CORN.

I did.
Some factors were that I'd be ragging it every session.
I wouldnt wanna scratch it, even tho a 250 dollar bass. Nice looking.
I move around fast when Im recording, always knocking in to things.
Plus, I needed the money.
