Hey there Robbie! Thanks for the greeting. Am a regular visitor still, even though I rarely post and even more rarely turn on my AW1600. :)

Hope all is well with you.

Byron: All is well except for more aches and pains in the old body every year. :) Just finished my 13th year of 6 months of travel in my truck camper. Got about 50 miles from BC. Now up to about 125K miles on my camper. Hoping to do it again next year. My mind is willing, but my body might not be. :)

What are you doing to stay busy in retirement?

I've actually got 4 different recording projects happening now. Following a long period of none. I am not playing on any of them. all for others. I will post some samples in a bit.

I hope to do a bit of road travel myself next spring. I will start in my van and then perhaps advance to a camper if the lifestyle suits. My wife is retiring in a few weeks and it will change the cash flow substantially, so perhaps a camper is a bit of a pie in the sky. we'll see. Hockey again for another season. Less enthused about it lately, but enjoy it when i get there. Started curling too. First time this year. Fun so far.

Stay active.

Most of my friends are retiring and I am certainly of age. But I don't see me stopping for a couple of years (unless I hit the lotto). Sadly, I haven't turned my 2400 on in over a year. I do play guitar most days and throw down on the drums here and there. I've been doing more woodworking and most recently I redid our screened porch. It was pretty sad with outdoor carpeting and two stoops taking up space. Now it's functional and close to completed. I spent this past Saturday sitting out there with my tablet and a soda watching some college football.

Byron: When the wife retires it will be "twice as much spouse and half as much money". :)

RZ: Sounds like you're keeping busy. Wish I could generate the enthusiasm to pick up my geetar (or mando) every day. I need someone to jam with to do it.

Robbie: Are you the captain of that vessel?

I officially reached retirement eligibility when I hit 56 a few months ago, but with two kids in college and a few years left on the mortgage I'm not going anywhere soon. Hoping maybe six more years or so, but who knows. As they say where I work - your job gets a lot easier when you can retire faster than they can fire you.

Nice to hear you're still hittin' the road, Ralph.

Robbie - is that the boat you just took off your parents' hands? happy sailing!

Owner, captain, helmsman, navigator, ... cook, deck hand, deck scrubber, maintenance guy...

Yes John, thanks! Some time ago my parents told me they planned to stop sailing. Talked to Ria about it... and made my parents a competitive offer. I've been on the waiting list for a place in the local marina for over 30 years so when my dad cancelled his place it more or less automatically became mine. My parents bought it when I was around 13 and I've spent many summer holidays on it. Since my dad's retirement about 15 years ago my parents had a 10 week holiday on it every summer. Now they feel it's too big of a hassle and planned on selling... that was a smooth sail for them. :-)
