I've had my AW1600 for a few years now and have recently come across a problem. I've ran out of space on the console and when i checked the time remaining it was at about 3min. So i've since cleared the transport folder, optimized most songs and deleted about 10 full songs but my remaining minutes have only gone up to 13mins. Even after deleting a few GB's of space it remained at 13mins. Is this remaining time the way to see what space is left on the console or is there a way to see remaining space in GB? Or is it a case that the unit has crashed and maybe i have to reset the whole machine after i back up all my songs?

Does seem kind of weird.

There is no way to see GB free from the AW1600 panel. However, using your PC and USB you should be able to get a better idea. Use the "My Computer" window (I'm assuming you're not Mac) and highlight each AW1600 drive (-1 and -2). On the left side of the window there is a "Details" section that will tell you the info. FYI, mine says:

Drive AW1600-1: Free 11.5 GB Total 18.1 GB
Drive AW1600-2: Free 10.1 GB Total 18.1 GB

The 1600 switches back and forth between drives when creating new songs, so the Free space is probably about the same on each.

You might want to do a full backup by USB "drag and drop" to your PC or external USB drive. Copy all the AWS folders under each Song folder of each drive. Then you can reformat the hard drive and reload the AWS folders. You'll notice the AWS folders have the same name as your songs.

I think you need to backup the "Lib" folder on drive 2, also

Have you optimized each song? Every time you do another take over an existing track all the data remains. If you do this on many tracks per song, it could kill your available drive space. Just a thought.
