Hello,

Recently I have been running into two problems with my AW1600:

1. I recently recorded a song and then tried bouncing the snare and floor tom track to one track to make an extra track for vocals. When i listen back though only the snare track is there. I tried re-recording the same two tracks to one track over and over again but still I recieved the same results.

2. When using any of the edit functions except the ex-change feature I get nothing. Whenever I try and copy a part from one track to another i play it back but its never there!

If anybody understands what i am doing i need help!

Rather than bounce the snare and tom tracks to one, why don't you make a submix of all your drum tracks. this would be done with a mixdown recording to the stereo track. Once this is accomplished, use the edit function to move this stereo mix to stereo pair (e.g. 15/16) .Edit > move or Edit > Copy. Depending how many drum tracks you recorded, this will free up several tracks for vocals/ harmonies/ additional instruments.

Bouncing is a process not often required on this machine. Success depends on your understanding of how you set the slider positions of both the sending and receiving tracks, and knowledge of to what you are actually listening, as you monitor during the bounce. The effects buses are out of the loop during a bounce too. It is much more efficient to go the sub mix route, as both mixing and bouncing are done in real time - so bouncing saves no time and does present several factors to control that affect the final outcome.

I'm with Byron on this one.... I never use the bounce feature - I just make a mix to the stereo track and copy the results to a track/pair. This is a must for my drums (the start of my projects) and I do it with the guitar tracks and keyboards. I have done it with vocals - but it doesnt sound much better. Oh yeah, and change the virtual track afterward - so I can go back to those initial tracks if needed ('cause I can be fickle).
