For anyone using the computer for mixing and mastering their music, I recently purchased Izotope Ozone 5. I use it in Cubase, but it will load into almost any recording software. It has 8 mastering precessors that really open up your mixes and give you the volume missing in normal mixdowns. I know I sound like a commercial but this has opened up my mixes dramatically. It has up to an 8-band EQ, a harmonic exciter, a maximize, stereo imaging, dynamics, reverb, a 2nd overall EQ, etc. There is a very expensive one($700.00??) and a cheaper one (about $250.00) which is what I have. Check it out on Youtube, I think you'll be impressed! Now...back to your regularly scheduled program!!

I`ve used Ozone before and found it really good, it`s very easy to try to use it as a quick fix for a stereo mix though, and you have to remember that the presets are there as only a ballpark guide, you still have to get into the nitty gritty and tweak it, but I agree it`s one of the better mastering software packages out there.
If you have the opportunity I would also get Nectar from the same company, which is for vocals, I would recommend it highly as it is a quality bit of kit also.
Good luck.
