These are mesmerising in their breadth.

An example - IK Media Philharmonik plug-in

Download from IKmedia $AUD 229
Turramurra Music Sydney (my usual music store) $349
Bavas Music City Sydney (my second music store) $745

Another - Pro Tools

Can't quote current prices but most stores here sell a soft version (you just get a download authorisation) at $100 more than you can buy directly from the Avid website where you have to go anyway. Guess you'd be a bit browned off when you got there.

(Same applies to hardware - the prices for synths etc here seems to often be double those in USA for japanese synths while the $AUD is currently above parity with the $US. Within oz, the same variation applies. Google Korg M50 and you will see prices ranging from $AUD 1200 to $2200. Don't they know we all have the internet now? Worst offender in Brisbane seems to be Billy Hyde/Allens since they almost have a monopoly. Try MUSICLAB instead as SOME of their prices are cheaper than those in Sydney and their salemens are all qualified pros).
