The more I use Reaper, the more I like the stock Rea plugins and the edit functionality...I think my long marriage to Cubase just might be on it's last legs

Cool - I downloaded a version a couple of years ago and played with it a bit. If I ever get the bug (and suitable hardare) to edit/mix on a computer, I'll probably start there. Pretty good stuff, especially for the price.

yeah man...my deal is my new recording PC is Vista 64...to upgrade to a compatible version of Cubase it's gonna cost me bare minimum $299 and I ain't got the cash...version 2.55 of Reaper works on the 64 bit system and they just added a true 64 bit version to the Reaper website for $60...I've been pushing Reaper pretty hard in the last week or so and it has sailed through with flying colors...my work flow is a little slower due to things being arranged differently, but I've yet to come across a function that Cubase does and Reaper won't.

i had a look at their website last night, and i really like those guys' business acumen and philosophy.

i grabbed the trial version and will check it out, and see how it stacks up compared to my old fossil Sonar 2.2
