Buenos Dias Dijonites,

For those of you who mix via PC, this is a pretty cool freebie from Waves, albeit limited to a 1 year trial:

I know some of ya'll dislike amp modelers as much as I dislike fake drums but the software realm keeps getting better and better and it never hurts to check things out.

I know Andreas will be the first to check it out! :D

a YEAR free trial? sure beats 30 days, and Wave stuff is generally top shelf

thanks for the heads up. (p.s. andreas was second to check it out - too bad, so sad, eat my dust)

Clive,

I was kidding about Andreas checking it out. He HATES amp modelers and is a true tube amp sound purist.

BTW....I am a tube sound purist as well but it is very hard for me to find enough alone time in the house where I can crank my Mesa Boogie or Fender amps loud enough to get the tube overdriven sound that I desire.

I know you are just kidding about me as a tube amp lover
Same as I always was kidding about your terrible sick and distorted guitar sound

But I have to confess that I am a POD x3 owner. I only use it because I am often working out of my hometown and dont want to crank my tubeamp in the hotel :D . Not bad for this and sometimes I use it without the amp simulations for some decent chorus or delay to disguise my playing deficiencies  . When I am playing at my home studio I love the responsibility of my tube amp, who is handcrafted in the land of the Big Cheese.

I will give the software a try, too. Laptop, headphones, cable and guitar ... thats true rock n roll

Andreas
