Just wondering if you can re-use cd-rw discs when exporting files from aw16g. I'm now recording up to 3 gigs a week which amounts to 36 cd's a week to transfer the file to computer for mixing. Is there any kind of connection you can get to transfer files via usb to an external hard drive??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi cdj,

No, the only thing you can do is to use CDR's/CDRW's to export.

If you record up to 3 Gigs per week, it's a lot of work. You can re-use the CDRW but the G is very picky on brand. So, if it doesn't work, try a differend brand. If memory serves correctly, you have to erase a CDRW every time you want to re-use it.

If you are going to have many projects like that, looking out for a used AW1600 would probably pay off.

Hope this helps.

Ah, look at page 105 of the manual. What I said about erasing is only partially true.

Thanks Robbie.
I'll pick up some cd-rw. I don't mind erasing them......there's plenty spare time whilst songs are processing!
I'll look out for an aw1600 though they still hold there price pretty well

@clothdeejay Gooday! Guess what? The price is not so bad. A pristine condition used 1600 can be had for around 700 dollars US. I bought a barely used 1600 from ebay last week for $560. With shipping/ import duties and postal handling the total was around the $700 mark. Credit cards are wonderful things. ;)
I saw a used one at a music store. They wanted $1000 and the machine looked very broken in, worn and dirty. Me no touch.

On ebay right now are several 1600s. $4oo, $499, up to $749 for super pristine. Let's go shopping LOL
