Good morning,

I need to export the finished stereo mix of my songs from my AW2400 as wav files to my laptop. I have read the sections in the manual and I find it both confusing and scary. I really need to do this, but I don't want to make a mistake and screw up my computer, my work station, or the songs? Can anyone here post some very clear step by step instructions geared for a moron? Thanks!!!

Greetings. I’ve never tried to import single wav files to a computer from my 2400. I do a stereo mix down and then burn to cd. So I can’t be of help there. Someone should be by soon to hook you up. I do know thru the usb, you can filter all your wav files to your computer. So you should be in business soon enough.

You need to use the EDIT menu. Select the function EXPORT.

The screen will require you to set the start and end points. If there is unwanted data before ( ie a count-in) or at the end (ie forgot the turn the recorder off perhaps) adjust these parameters accordingly.

Set the Track to ST. and the virtual to the one you desire.

Once this is done, tell the machine to do the action ( I forget the exact word on the button) You will be asked along the way to name your EXPORT, but that is self explanatory.

Your song is now placed as a wav file, in the TRANSPORT folder.

To view this folder connect via Usb. Open the second of the two drives that appear, once connected. The transport folder can then be opened and your data can be dragged and dropped to the location of choice on your PC.

If confused, send me a PM and i will go over it again.

There is no way to burn the song as data ie a WAV, from the 2400. The cd burner makes only Audio discs ( which are essentially WAV files, but which can't be used as data because they subject to the TOC (Table of Contents) protocol that organizes and makes an album playable on players in cars and boom boxes etc.
