I just noticed they've discontinued the 01x and Yamaha has no tracker with moving faders at the moment. Could it mean we are going to see a new product soon?

I sure would like to see a 24bit/96kHz 32-tracker with moving faders, color display, firewire etc.

Any inside knowledge, anyone? Rumours?

No, but I do have expectations.

I think Yamaha is going to completely step out of the DAW market because the market is shifting towards PC based recording. There will probably always be one or two brands of DAW's but we will get less and less to choose from.

If Yamaha was to build a 24 bit/96kHz 32-tracker for a reasonable price, I'd probably be in the market.

just a hunch, but I'd say if Yamaha puts out anything new, it will be like the Cakewalk/Roland V studio...seems that is the only type of serious hardware made nowadays... :(

If everything goes per plan, I will be at NAMM in Nashville next Friday. I plan to take lots of photos and of course I will pay a special visit to the Yamaha booth (of course the Taylor, Martin, DW, Korg, Fender, Gibson, PRS, Sadowsky, Tascam, Marshall . . . . )

In any event, baring any unforseen circumstances, I'll be lurking the isles and looking for new stuff. I hope to post another page to my music site like I did many years ago before Summer NAMM left and returned to Nashville.

RZ Does NAMM

Is that anything like "Debbie Does Dallas" ?

Seriously, I went to the NAMM show in Austin two years ago. It was amazing.

Enjoy it RZ!

Great for you - and for us too. If you see any new Yamaha multitrackers or firewire recorders with moving faders, let us know. Have fun.
