Hello everyone, I know my question is repeated. And I've seen a lot of topics about it. But I've tried the solution on those posts and I failed. Maybe I need more advice.
I bought a clean AW16G and its blank. I mean no demo song, no PADS libraries for the loops. I went to the docs page and downloaded all the files. I just needed help to put the demo and libraries in it.
Please tell me which file on the docs page contains the demo and libraries, and how to put it (burn it) on cd, I mean do i have to extract the .bin file ( or does the AW16 accept and open .bin files ?)
Thanks a lot

Welcome. I know you don't want to load the demo unless you can figure out how to cancel all the scenes and other insanity that comes from it. As for the other odds and ends, our fearless leader Robbie should be coming by soon to point you in the right direction.

Thank you so much for the fast reply, really care about the loops more than the Demo song, but I wanted my AW16G to return to the original set-up. However if the Demo song is going to cause confusion, then I'm fine with just the library loops for the pads.

Even if you do get the Demo on to the deck, remember to "Recall Initial Data" from the scenes list when you move on a project of your own. that will put to bed all the gremlins residing in the DEMO.

Settings remain in place when changing projects. So every project needs scenes of its own. Either start from scratch (Recall Initial Data) or create a scene as you are working and especially before leaving a project to go to another. that way you can recall setting to where you last were.

The Demo is a strong example of what can be accomplished with the machine, but it does cause havoc during the period users are learning to appreciate the necessity of making scenes for every project based upon the need to get back to a state of development.

oh, do I know what fear is...

As we say in Holland... I'm a hero on socks...

In the meantime, my memory fails me when I try to recall how to re-install the pad things. Must be googlable though. Someone might come along and help you with that, otherwise I'll try to figure that one out in the weekend.

Now... how was that again... I vaguely remember putting something back... hm... I'm getting old.

I have been looking at the docs page. I would hazard a guess that the pad files are not there. the .zip file is not available and the RAR file (both claim to contain Tools files), once I figured how to open it, contains folders that are the templates for midi connections to allow the G to be used as a control surface for Cubase and Sonar and Cakewalk. No pads. I will see if i can find my Tools disk for my 1600 to get a look at what files in question may look like. ??? more later..

That link will not do you any good unless you have the disk. I looked for my disk and did not lay my eyes on it. I know it is about somewhere though. But you need the aw16g disk so my finding it would not do you any good.

Any waves can be loaded into the pads, as you probably are aware. Of course there is a size limit for the pads, but whole licks and phrases will fit, ready to be flown in during a mixdown.

there is a significant differences in the utility of the pads between the 16g and the 1600. Grid recording is enabled on the 1600, so you can automate trigger of the pads based on the tempo map. the 16g requires a performance (which can be recorded). But the grid on the 1600 allows precise and, if sought after, much more complicated moves to be designed and quickly and easily edited as ideas develop.

If I have a file name I'll take a look in my archive. Small chance but one never knows...

Would the file your looking for be on the CD that comes with the aw16g when new?
If so I got the original discs still in the sealed cases I can try upload if that helps?

That probably would be useful for some people. I will let Robbie or Ron (RZ) give you advice on posting stuff to the Docs page. I've not done much of that.
