well partner ,

A search reveals several dozen reasons why.

But seriously leftover scenes from it can cause many problems in a new song right after you play the demo

You can initialize everything then save it all to a "dummy" song then recall that each time you want to start a new fresh mix with all parameters set neutral.

any questions please holler at us
welcome aboard

hope this helps

As Mrskygod said....it is important that you delete the DEMO song and create a clean song/scene or initialize to clean settings. If the original "G"site was running....I'd give you a better reference. Once upon a time (prior to my hard drive CRASH!!!!!!).....I had it here. It's written down somewhere on paper.

Get rid of the DEMO sing and re-initialize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

The demo does have benefits. If utilized properly, it can show you around creating your first song. For example, by pressing the view button and a track button, you can watch the various levels of each track. If you dig deeper, you can look at the library and see effects used, search for proper panning techniques, study the tempo map for setting up scenes, and much more.

The problem with all that, is when you listen to the demo before reading the manual or Recording 101, you don't have a clue about the machine. Then you get all hung up with the scenes taking over different aspects of the recorder and it turns into frustration. Plus if you're not familiar with the various levels each button on the G can take you, you won't know to press these things while the demo is running. So, the demo now becomes a pain in the arse and useless.

Now, if you record a few tunes and get down the basics, maybe playing the demo later on and checking out the features used for the demo could be of some help in getting the most out of your G. Or not.

I agree with RZ ........My demo song is intact. It is very useful in the understanding of scene useage as channels are turned on and off , effects , eq's and lots of other things are going on as well. That's how they got all that stuff into such a small song size.

I still refer to it from time to time. It's a lot more visual than the manual for the use of scenes.

I gotta admit, I seriously considered starting with the demo song and replacing the vocals with some sort of parody to submit to the comp CD. I thought better of it, figuring that sort of thing was SirN's department anyway. Y'all can thank me now.

Dear PERRANFULO,

If you don't delete the DEMO song someone bigger than me will kick your butt if it causes you grief in the future.

AS RZ said.....you can reinstall it if needed.

Yoyoyoyoyoyoyou're wrowrowrowrong. Well, not really.

Two soldiers were fighting, got caught by the sergeant and were put on report. So they had to go to the captain.

The first soldier entered the captain's office and the captain said: "This is very serious. Tell me why you were in a fight.". Soldier said: "Well, sir, we were having a discussion and it got a heated debate and it got worse and worse and all of a sudden we were fighting." The captain said "I'm very angry with you. I'll put you away for four days, water and bread only".

The soldier saluted and left the office. Then, the second soldier had to come into the office. He was a stutterer.

"Tell me why you were fighting" said the captain. "Sisisisir, we were ha-ha-ha-having a se-se-se..." "GET OUT YOU IDIOT" the cap screamed. So the soldier left the office.

Outside, the soldiers ran into each other. "What di-di-di-did he sa-sa-say to you?", "Four days on water and bread. And you?", "No-no-no-nothing". "HOW DID YOU DO THAT??", "Well, yo-yo-yo-you ha-ha-ha-have to be able to-to-to ta-ta-ta-talk you wa-wa-way out of it!!"
