I was think just the other day if there's a way to replace all the inputs on the 16G with combo jacks like the 1600g?

Has anyone considered trying this mod?

I think it could very well be done?

Yer gonna have to expand the phantom power to the other 6 somehow.
Outa be pretty easy actually. The sheetmetal mod to accept the new jacks might be tedious (even if there's room in the chassis for the jacks)

I think that's the only real problem...mechanical; there'll be something in the way, that's for sure. The only other is that the power supply is probably only sized for the 2 existing XLRs, so there could be an outside issue with trying to supply all 8 simultaneously.

One could also make a break-out box I suppose to avoid the mechanical problems. Could also use an external phantom powersupply and wire it in. I'd just as soon use in mixer in front of the G.
