I am not sure though. Here is what I think:

Make 1 track with one of the effects you want. once it has been recorded with the effect, make another track with another different effect on it. Continue doing that as many times as you need. To save some time, on effect 2 make another effect and apply it after you are done recording your track using the dials.

Would that work or is that complete bull :lol: ?

You have discovered a technique called "bouncing". It works, though to use it effectively good planning is needed.
