Hi All, my 1st post....
I have a 2400, but think this question probably applies broadly

I'd like to use amplitube on iPad as source of guitar sounds for recording
Tracks on the 2400. Would appreciate feedback (even if highly critical)
On my approach described below.

I have amplitube on iPad to get guitar sounds, guitar connects via 1/4" ts
To irig then lightening to ipad.

Next cable is 1/8" stereo to (2) 1/4" TS connectors...
1/8" into iPad headphone output
Each TS goes to a separate passive direct box

Each direct box is connect via XLR to the 2400. Box 1 to track1, box 2 to track 2

I set up the 2400 to record and I'm good to go...

There's a little buzzing heard on the recorded track when I do this

Thank you in advance for any thoughts/comments on this approach.

Jdiddy

Hi J,

I don't think I can be of help with this problem, but I'm convinced one of the techies will come along shortly to do some suggestions.

In the meantime, welcome to the forum, ask anything you want (except for cash 'cause we don't have any), hope you'll get this thing sorted out.

R

hello there,

congratulations on the aw2400 ... great machine

you say "little buzzing heard on the recorded track" .... do you hear the buzzing in the input channel before recording ? ... if the signal is buzzing, the recorded track will be buzzing ...

i would recommend checking all connections and probly remove 1 pc at a time until the buzzing sound is found/gone ... i do not have experience with the ipad setup so i am not sure of the quality of the signal or the interface

let us know what happens

mark

You could perhaps eliminate the Direct Boxes I suspect, and go with the 1/4" TS into the inputs 1 and 2. Checking all your connections, systematically, is a good suggestion made by Mark.
