Just got a 1600 after my G broke down after many years of good service. I started recording immediately on what I guess was the demo song "you´ve got it" or something. Anyway, I just noticed I cannot record onto the stereo tracks 9-16. I need them. Can I move 1-8 to a new song? Or, how can I fix 9-16 so that I can record on them. They seem to be locked or something.

I would guess that the demo song is recorded in 24 bit???? Not so sure this is true, but what i do know is that you have only 8 tracks per song at 24 bit. If you set up the song as 16 bit song you will be able to use all the tracks.

You will like the 1600. If you record using a click track, be sure to teach yourself about the GRID function. It can be very useful, in conjunction with the Pads.

Get rid of the demo song, or at least never call it up again. It utilizes a tempo map and automated scene changes and brings on many (seemingly uncontrolled) mysterious settings and effects. Don't go there.

Set up a new 16 bit song, use scenes to recall Initial Setting and build from there.

Go in and initialize all settings. Then you should be able to start over.
