Hi guys,
Hope all is well!! I pulled out the dusty 1600 to record a choir today. Since I last used it I got a new computer and it has windows 7 on it. Plug in USB, turn on and windows tries to install a driver and fails. Manually going to the USBdrv folder on the disk "no driver found". I'll keep scouring the site for an answer, but if anyone knows what I have going on, I'd sure appreciate it!

Thanks!

Beer, good to see you out and about. Hope all your projects that we last heard about have gone/ are going well! Just because you do not use the Aw that much any more doesn't mean you shouldn't pop in for a visit every now and again!!!

As per your USB connectivity - did you get it to communicate with the Windows 7 machine? I am not sure if I have ever hooked up to a Windows 7 machine. I usually use XP on an old workhorse I have and also i use a Vista machine on occasion. I have seen the machines search for an AW driver, but there does not seem to be a specific, dedicated one??? That said, my AW has never failed to link up to whatever computer I've tried. the drives appear as two separate partitions, as I am sure you are aware.

I have done lots of choir recordings with my 1600. I prefer it to my 2400 for that kind of task. I have lots of ideas/suggestions for both tracking and production of such recordings, so don't hesitate to ask here or in a PM.

Hope all is well. Are you still commuting to and flying in Alaska? Any gigging? What have you been working on?

Hi,
As soon as I told the 1600 to connect, it did! I was forgetting that step. It doesn't need anything with 7 as was posted somewhere else :)
I'm back based in Seattle so the commute is no longer an issue. My music has been slowish, the childrens CD came out and was #1 on Cd Baby for a long time, now its buried in the pack..LOL The song I'm working on now is for a possible theme song for the National Be A Buddy Not A Bully Foundation. The only problem is, they're also talking to Macklemore..LOL DOOOHHH! Maybe he'll decide to sing my song because otherwise if he decides to do it, well Beer will be drinking beer and nothing more. hahaha I'll post when its done...

I don't know what my last update was, but I got married to an awesome girl and bought a cool new house...busy busy busy there...no music, lots of yard work :(

Best wishes to you all, glad you're all still here :)

Ivan, if you are still there .... or anyone else who has been to Seattle area. My daughter and her partner are taking a holiday to the Seattle area in August. They are both great consumers of live music and looking for venues of all kinds and sizes and musical genres. they know little about the area and so would greatly appreciate some direction as to places/halls/dive bars etc ( internet is pretty good at promoting arena shows) that they could search out. Any suggestions??
