Man, I wish I had room...what a cool piece of equipment. I just picked up an old Alesis Adat for $50! instantly went from 8 ins to 16 ins on my protools. Awesome bang for the buck! Good luck with the sale!

I think I would consider being interested, too. Problem is the space in my home.

I wish I could buy your house, pick it up and put it here. It'd be worth well over a million euro's.

RZ,

It might help if you delete the demo song on that 388.

Ok I deleted the demo. That helped. But now two of my 8 tracks are permanently paired and I don't have a screen to break them. Where is that initial reset?

So, some goofballs emails me through ebay and basically asks me to give him the machine and ship it for free. I told him in a nice way: fuck off!

Do you think I versed it properly?

Ron, I think you'll have to format all the tapes!

Under 5 hours to go on ebay. No bids. If it doesn't sell I have an alternate plan. I'm going to call my friend who got it for me back in '85. He is still in the A/V industry. I'm sure he has a tech who repairs their sales of recording equipment. If I still have unit at the end of the day, I'll give him a call, see what I can get the unit refurbed for and then I should be able to sell it for double the price.

No sale. auction ended. then I had two people email me asking for deals. I called a friend who game me the name of a guy who used to work on analog studio gear back in the day. He said he probably could do the work and get it going, but had to decide if he has the time. He no longer has the bench setup. He's going to call some friends who also may be able and let me know. I really think having it back to working and clean etc, is the proper way to go.

Got to agree. I would really get a kick of working with some analogue tape gear. I never did, beyond pushing record on old portable cassette machines. I've been doing that since I was a kid. Keep us posted on this one. Perhaps the buyer would be close at hand ...
